Baseboard & Trim

Baseboard and Trim Installation

Baseboards, casing, and molding for finished rooms in Florida.

Painted baseboard meeting a pale oak floor.

Prahem fits baseboards and interior trim for homes in Florida. Replacement is a natural follow-up when a floor is higher than the old boards, or when the existing trim is scarred. Request an estimate with the rooms and the city or ZIP code.

The material is usually paint-grade or a stain-grade board you have chosen. The visit is cutting, fitting, fastening, and filling nail holes so the trim is ready for paint or already finished, as the scope states.

Scope

Trim pieces this service fits

  • BaseboardsNew baseboard installation or replacement along walls that are straight enough to take a board.
  • Door and window casingInterior casing around openings that already exist.
  • Decorative moldingSimple chair rail or picture molding when it is a surface application on a sound wall.
  • After a floorBaseboards reinstalled or replaced so they sit cleanly on laminate, vinyl, or another new surface.

In practice

Planning the boards before they are cut

Room counts, the trim profile, and whether the boards are already purchased are the core of the request. Outside corners, inside corners, and the height of the new floor change the cut list. If doors are also being replaced, casing can be scheduled with that work so the joints meet once.

The estimate follows the rooms and the trim profile. Boards that have to be fabricated as custom millwork in a shop are not produced here; the service installs trim stock that is already suitable.

Finish carpentry at the surface

Trim is fastened to the existing wall. It does not straighten a structural wall or replace framing. Caulk at the top of a baseboard can be included as a finish joint and is also described on the wall repair and caulking page.

Questions

About this service.

Can baseboards be replaced after a new floor?

Yes. That is a common baseboard replacement once the new surface is down.

Do you install door casing only?

Yes. Casing can be scoped on its own or with the baseboards.

Is this structural carpentry?

No. It is interior trim on existing walls and openings.

Will the trim be painted?

Paint can be included when the scope says so. Otherwise the boards are left ready for a later coat.
